Service Overview
DPD prides itself on its detailed and calculated approach to quantity surveying and project management through a six-stage process:
Stage 1
Inception
The scope of the project is determined, as well as the needs and requirements of the client.
Stage 2
Concept & viability
An initial estimate based on concept drawings is prepared and a viability study is conducted. DPD reports on the estimate and the viability study and makes recommendations to the client.
Stage 3
Design development
Based on more detailed drawings and additional information, an elemental estimate is prepared, together with comments on financial aspects and implications of the cost of the development. DPD advises on potential alternatives and savings in consultation with the engineers, architect and client.
Stage 6
Closed-out
Conclusion of the final account on the basis of work executed, including all variations. Finalise and agree final account with the contractor and client.
Stage 5
Construction
During the period of construction, monthly interim payment certificates are prepared based on the actual work executed by the contractor. Monthly cost reports are prepared indicating approved budget, actual expenditure to date and the estimated outstanding cost to completion. Projected cash flow for estimated future expenditure, based on progress on site, is included in the monthly cost report.
Stage 4
Documentation & procurement
Based on more detailed drawings and additional information, an elemental estimate is prepared, together with comments on financial aspects and implications of the cost of the development. DPD advises on potential alternatives and savings in consultation with the engineers, architect and client.
